The Estates and Facilities Department at the University of Nottingham provides strategic and operational services support to the University infrastructure, buildings and landholdings. We are a large and diverse department employing approximately 1250 people and provide a wide range of services across our U.K sites.
A qualified and experienced Maintenance Craftsperson - Plumber/Fitter is required to work within the Estates Department undertaking planned and reactive maintenance to University Buildings. You will liaise with customers and other University departments to ensure work is carried out in an efficient and cost effective manner; completing pre and post task documentation to ensure records of work are maintained and accurate.
Candidates should be qualified NVQ 3 or equivalent in an appropriate building services engineering discipline such as Heating Engineering, Plumbing and fitting with mechanical systems (knowledge and experience) or be qualified to NVQ 2 or equivalent with extensive relevant experience in Plumbing or Heating and have experience of working within a mechanical services/plumbing maintenance environment. You should also have a thorough understanding of the operation and repair of heating and ventilation systems. As this role requires the post holder to drive between university sites a full, current driving licence is also essential for this role.

Hours of work are full time, 36.25 hours per week, worked 5 days out of 7 to be arranged (mainly Monday to Friday) Flexibility will be required. Job share arrangements may be considered.
