An exciting opportunity has arisen within our team for a Care Pathway Lead for Community Foot Protection and a Care Pathway Lead for Nail Surgery (or a combination of both roles) to join our friendly, supportive Podiatry Team.
Our Podiatry Department is a forward-thinking, busy service providing Podiatry Services to GPs in Redbridge & Waltham Forest. The population that we serve is both multi-cultural and diverse.
Our Podiatry Care Pathway Leads are highly experienced, valuable members of the team with expert knowledge in their field. They are responsible for the specialty service that they lead, including the responsibility and organization of effective care pathways as well as the day-to-day operational management and supervision of designated clinicians.
Your clinical work would be across an array of community & domiciliary settings across these boroughs, and a car driver is therefore essential to this role.
Main duties of the job
* Take clinical responsibility for care pathways, organizing effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical priorities and ensuring that treatment/information is provided within the required AHP waiting times. Highlighting solutions to capacity concerns and proactively advising the service lead on solutions to manage demand.
* Provide operational and clinical leadership for the care pathway and responsibility for educating colleagues and junior staff, and will be the main contact for expert advice and support for junior staff in the team.
* Take lead responsibility for delivering high-quality, timely, accessible, and evidence-based services for patients as part of the clinical pathway.
* Undertake a high-risk clinical role according to current priority/demand on the service, including comprehensive advanced assessment and treatment of patients with multiple pathologies, formulating treatment plans based on clinical findings.
* Establish and implement systems and structures for effective monitoring of quality and service audit. Encouraging departmental clinical audit and research in specialist areas.
* Act as a lead clinical specialist for nail surgery and/or podiatric diabetes and wound care in the community.
