About the Role
As an PPM/ EM, you will be at the heart of Network Rail's major projects, overseeing the design, implementation, and delivery of essential rail infrastructure upgrades. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with industry standards. This role is pivotal in modernising the UK rail network, with a strong focus on signalling systems, track infrastructure, and operational safety.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of skilled engineers, ensuring high-quality project delivery
Provide technical expertise on railway signalling systems, track renewals, and infrastructure enhancements
Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation
Collaborate closely with Network Rail, contractors, and key stakeholders to define objectives and achieve seamless integration
Ensure compliance with all rail safety regulations, Network Rail standards, and engineering best practices
Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement proactive solutions
Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering team
What We're Looking For
Strong background in engineering management within the rail industry (preferably in signalling, track, or infrastructure projects)
Experience working with Network Rail frameworks, policies, and engineering standards
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire multidisciplinary teams
Sound knowledge of rail signalling systems, safety-critical engineering, and project planning
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and navigate complex engineering challenges
Proficiency in engineering design tools, project management software, and industry-specific technologies
Relevant engineering qualifications (degree or equivalent in Rail, Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering)
