Hours: Part time / Evenings / Colebrook Juniors - 3 hours per week for 52 weeksColebrook - 9 meetings per year (approx. 22.5 hours in total) plus admin
Description
We are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate to provide professional clerking services to the Governing Bodies of three friendly and welcoming schools (Beechcroft Infant School, Colebrook Junior School and Eldene Nursery & Primary School). For further details about pay and hours for the other two schools please refer to their adverts for a clerk on eteach.
Each school would employ the successful candidate as a member of their own staff team.
Candidates who wish fewer hours may be considered for appointment at one or two schools only.
Are you an excellent administrator, well organised, pro-active and with an eye for detail?
Could you organise meetings, draft agendas and produce detailed, accurate minutes?
Given training and support, could you be pro-active in helping the three Chairs of Governors to ensure that the annual cycle of governance is carried out efficiently and effectively at each school, and advise the Governing Bodies on procedural and constitutional matters?

The role involves:
supporting the preparation of agendas
taking minutes
following up on actions from meetings
distributing agendas, minutes and reports via Governor Hub (an online platform that supports governing bodies)
updating statutory information
providing procedural and legislative advice to the governing bodies
The successful candidate will:
have excellent communication and organisational skills
have strong IT skills
be capable of working independently and confidentially
form effective working relationships with the Chair of Governors, the governing body and the school leadership team
be able to organise your own time and work to deadlines
be discrete and able to deal with highly confidential matters information
Be available to take minutes at all meetings throughout the year
Knowledge of governing body procedures and previous experience in a similar role is desirable, however, training will be made available.
The job role will be on a flexible basis. Attendance at Governing Body meetings (term time only) will be required, however administrative working time outside of this would be home based at times of your choosing.
