An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly professional, experienced Finance Manager, reporting to the Managing Director, based in our site in Bicester (hybrid working based on 3 days in the office and 2 working from home). As part of the Leadership Team, this role is pivotal in shaping the financial success of Burckhardt Compression (UK, Sweden and Denmark) and its positive contribution to the BC Group of businesses. This role will provide strategic financial insights and be active in the delivery, development, and continuous improvement of the key department responsibilities, from supervising operational/transactional activity and compliance to internal and external financial reporting, planning, and analysis supported by a small team of qualified and part-qualified accounts professionals.
To be successful in this role, you will:
Management and Planning:
* Oversee the operations of the accounting and administrative department and maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team.
* Oversee and ensure the timely and accurate preparation and finalization of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
* Effectively manage a team of Accounting and Finance Specialists in GB and Sweden including performance management, goal setting, etc.
* Maintain and uphold a documented system of accounting policies and procedures in accordance with local legal and BC internal accounting standards.
* Implement a robust control system and perform regular checks to ensure full compliance.
* Assist in the development of financial and non-financial performance measures that support the consolidated company's strategic direction.
* Understand and mitigate key elements of the consolidated company's risk profile.
* Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies; monitor any open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry.
Transactional and Reporting:
* Gather, process and monitor financial data for 3 legal entities.
* Ensure data and process accuracy, e.g. control of accounting transactions, updated charts of accounts.
* Ensure timely and correct handling of payments and collection of accounts receivables including following up on slow-paying customers.
* Review monthly bank reconciliations prepared by administrative staff.
* Perform month end activities, such as determining depreciation, tax provision, accruals, prepaid, and foreign exchange adjustments.
* Ensure timely payments of related or third party debt. Issue timely and complete financial statements and related reports to comply with Head Office reporting requirements including the monthly uploads into Cognos.
* Perform regular variance analysis from the budget, reporting significant deviations to management.
* Provide financial analyses as needed.
* Monitor project margins and report any variances.
* Conduct monthly project risk management liaising with Operations and Sales on revenue recognition and debt collection.
* Handle VAT accounting.
* Implement and monitor a standardized Project Costing Process and update standard costs as needed.
* Work closely with the Head Office treasury department and local bank to efficiently manage the company’s foreign currency hedging transactions within the pre-determined risk criteria.
* Ensure compliance with governmental tax filings requirements.
* Provide pertinent information to external auditors for the annual audit.
* Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Maintain appropriate consolidated insurance coverage for all facilities, equipment and operations.
* Liaise with insurance brokers/customers/vendors as required.
* Administration of contracts and legal agreements for facilities, equipment and operations.

To qualify for this role, you will need to demonstrate:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in managing the Finance administration for a small to mid-sized organization, ideally for an internal company.
* CPA designation or equivalent (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
* Expert understanding of financial statements and budgeting.
* Knowledge of local UK taxation laws and IFRS standards. Knowledge of Swedish and Danish taxation law is considered as a plus.
* Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases.
* Fluent in English; additional fluency in Swedish or Danish would be an advantage.
