About The Role
Our Transport Supervisors play a vital part in the operation and the customer journey by rolling up our sleeves up to get things done. You will report directly to our Depot Manager and will manage our warehouse team.
Our Transport Supervisor will ensure that our day-to-day warehouse operation always runs effectively and that the warehouse achieves its objectives and KPI’s set out by the business. You will provide support to the warehouse making sure that everything runs smoothly, and the company operate with full compliance.
1. Salary: £25,000.00 - £26,500.00 per annum
2. Hours: 4 on 4 off, 6:00am-6:00pm (40.25 hours per week)
3. Job Type: Full time and permanent contract
4. Location: Unit 1, Middleton Avenue, Strutherhill Ind. Estate, Larkhall, ML9 2UN
Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing
5. Check that all vehicles leaving the depot are secure and meet required transport legislation requirements
6. Monitor delivery performance throughout the day
7. Support training for new starters to include Safe Systems of Work and Health and Safety
8. Briefing team daily/weekly on key priorities and workload
9. Supervising the team and allocating tasks and priorities
10. Complete alcohol testing when required
11. Complete minor repairs to vehicles and arrange servicing as required
12. Communicate with our Drivers, handling any queries efficiently and in a professional manner
13. Take responsibility for managing the transhipping and reloads
14. Complete in-house reports on a daily basis
A Few Things About You
15. Understand transport legislation and logistics operation
16. Able to build good relationships with people even when under pressure
17. Challenge any vehicle issues or damages with our Drivers
18. Able to make decisions in the absence of the Depot Manager to drive performance and service
19. React quickly to information and be able to solve problems independently
20. Good communication skills both verbally and written
21. Competent use of Microsoft, particularly Excel
