Are you on the lookout for a rewarding part-time job where you can make a difference in the lives of others? You're in luck as we are on the lookout for Support Practitioners to join us part-time (20 hours per week) on a permanent basis.
The Role
The great thing about this job is no two days are ever the same. You'll become part of a dedicated team who provide support to an elderly gentleman with a learning disability in his own home.
You will play a crucial role in supporting this gentleman with all aspects of daily living, including cooking, some aspects of personal care, meal preparation, administering medication, and the management of personal finances. You will support him to do the things he wants to do out in the community and accompany him on any outings, including when he is attending health appointments. You will take an active role in the planning and delivery of person-centered care and be supportive and encourage him to express his views and wishes.
About You
At Cornerstone, we don't recruit on experience and qualifications; we're more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team! We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you'll need to build your career within the Health & Social Care sector. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!
All we’ll need you to bring is:
* A caring attitude and approach
* A positive approach to learning
* Confidence to go in the water as swimming is a regular activity
* An understanding of the importance of routines and guidelines
* Confidence in the use of computers.
Shift Patterns
Your shifts will be over 2 days per week, daily 9-7 with the possibility of a split shift 9am-1pm then 3pm-7pm.
We are looking to fill these vacancies as soon as possible and hold the right to close our advert early if we find suitable candidates before the closing date. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.
Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
Please note: If you have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to apply to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
