Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nurse to join us in a senior role within our progressive and forward thinking department. The candidate must have a knowledge and interest in Cardiology.
The successful applicant will work alongside senior nursing and medical staff to ensure a high standard of clinical care is delivered and that our team of enthusiastic and skilled nursing staff receive appropriate education and professional development.
You will need:
* Recent cardiology experience as a Band 5
* Post registration qualification or experience in Cardiac care
* Degree level education (or a commitment to work towards)
The successful applicant will be a good communicator, provide a high standard of clinical skills, and be keen to help drive and influence innovative practice within isolation nursing.

Main duties of the job
* Act as team leader taking responsibility for the organisation and day-to-day management of a team of nurses.
* Effectively lead and be responsible for the ward team and clinical care carried out in a designated area in absence of and in conjunction with the Ward Manager.
* Lead in designated area/s in close liaison with the Ward Manager, Matrons and the Practice Development Team to provide the highest quality of assessment and evaluated care required to support each patient in their care pathway.

Education/Qualifications
* 3 Years experience within speciality / acute care area
* Mentorship module/Preceptor training
* Evidence of leadership qualities.
* ILS / ALS trained
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* Leadership course
* Post registration qualification relevant to clinical speciality
Experience
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
