Job summary An exciting opportunity to work within the Gynaecology services has arisen. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, adaptable and motivated Healthcare Assistant to the established team in the Women's Health Outpatient Department. We would love to hear from anyone who has a NVQ in Care Level 2 or previous experience in the Gynaecology or Outpatient setting. The role involves working within a busy Outpatient Department and learning new skills, with a variety of training and supervision. There is also the opportunity to work weekends when needed. Wye Valley NHS Trust is also able to provide band 2 to band 3 developmental pay progression opportunities, subject to experience and competencies achieved. Main duties of the job Assist nursing staff in delivering a high standard of holistic care to patients, recognising their individuality, and promoting privacy and dignity at all times. Preparing clinical rooms for procedures and assisting staff with administrative and clinical duties Perform, document and report clinical observations and report changes in patient's condition to nurse in charge or Consultant. This may include temperature, manual blood pressure, pulse, respiration, oxygen saturation and blood glucose monitoring. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as being friendly and adaptable in your approach. Polite and pleasant with an appropriate professional demeanor and also able to cope with stressful and sensitive situations. To ensure the equipment is clean and in good working order. To ensure the environment is clean and tidy. To participate with the induction of staff new to the clinical area. To minimize hazards in the working area and report any identifiable hazards to the line manager.
