Role Overview
A Quantity Surveyor at Taylor Wimpey manages site budgets, ensuring the delivery of high-quality homes. This role combines budget management, teamwork, and subcontractor interaction.
Ideal Candidate
Graduates with a Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field are encouraged to apply. Strong attention to detail, proficiency in Excel, and good interpersonal skills are essential.
Program Details
The program includes rotations across various Business Units and time within our Group Central Function, providing diverse project exposure and mentorship opportunities. It also features a tailored development scheme to enhance leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Training Focus Areas
* Tender Process: Review drawings, analyze tenders, negotiate with contractors.
* S.I.T Budgets: Manage Excel SIT Budgets, utilize COINS SIT Budgets.
* Order Placement: Lead meetings and facilitate COINS Order Placement.
* Payments: Generate payment batches, handle invoice queries, draft certificates.
* CVR: Conduct valuations, reconcile costs, compile reports.
* Subcontractor Management: Build relationships, manage accounts, understand pricing structures.
Candidate Qualities
Problem-solving skills and relationship-building are vital. You will collaborate across teams, turning challenges into opportunities.

* 2:1 Degree in Built Environment or Construction-related course
* Driving License

Compensation and Benefits
* Starting salary of £28,400 - £30,400 with milestones-based increases
