Financial Accountant Jewellery Quarter Bullion Limited (JQB) is looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join the JQB team to help support the UK and International growth of this market-leading business. We aim to extract maximum value with minimum input. The role Reporting to the Financial Manager, the Financial Accountant will play an essential part in the Finance Team. Your main focus will be taking primary responsibility for meeting tax and statutory reporting deadlines for JQB and its associated companies including VAT returns, CT returns and preparing year-end accounts. The secondary responsibilities of the role will include assisting the team with the production of management accounts, upholding a strong control environment and ad-hoc reporting for business stakeholders. This role will suit a practice accountant looking for their first move into industry. You will need to be a proactive and organised individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where your contributions will be valued and rewarded. Key Responsibilities Preparation of the UK and EU one-stop shop quarterly VAT returns Lead year-end and statutory audit processes with external auditors Produce and review balance sheet reconciliations Control reviews and process improvements Review of purchase invoice coding, costings, and approvals Assist in the management account process of JQB in key areas such as stock Oversee the preparation of management accounts in associated companies Annual tax reporting requirements, including PSA, P11d etc Preparation and submission of statutory accounts for associated group companies Corporation tax calculation (including R&D) and submission to HMRC for associated group companies Produce reports for government bodies such as the ONS Ad hoc finance work and reporting Be a role model for other team members. Essential Strong attention to detail and a highly organised approach Experience using a nominal ledger system ACCA/ACA/CIMA Finalist or Qualified Advanced Excel, numerical and analytical skills are essential Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a team A curious mind and a willingness to learn new skills from others and your own research. Desired but not essential Experience in Sage 50 and Xero. A background in practice would be advantageous. Experience in Powerquery/PowerBI An interest in Investment and/or Bullion.
