Job Description Summary
Our client is a world-leading provider of integrated systems for commercial, military, business, and general aviation aircraft. We are actively recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our PCB team in Cheltenham.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing or Process Engineer to join our growing team using their engineering experience to help improve our manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include the preparation and review of procedures, identifying and delivering process improvements to solve complex shop floor issues. Selected candidates will support delivery plans with overall business awareness and ensure quality and compliance standards are met.
With volume increases of circa 40% by the end of 2024, this job opportunity comes with the challenge of integrating new equipment into the manufacturing process and further developing our process controls.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for designated overall process controls within our manufacturing processes.
2. Define and control production processes including tooling and equipment.
3. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new products, tools, or equipment.
4. Drive accountability through daily/weekly operating rhythms to ensure ME driven tasks are completed in line with production requirements.
5. Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements.
6. Analyse and report on production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, availability of machines, and waste management.
7. Key stakeholder during new equipment selection in line with process and industry best practice (CAPEX Approvals).
8. Ensure that the organisation's manufacturing processes comply with relevant policies and regulations.
9. Coordinate maintenance and repair services to keep production equipment operational.
10. Identify/evaluate improvement opportunities.
Desired Experience
1. PCB specific manufacturing experience.
2. Experience handling and dispensing (manual and/or automated) of low viscosity fluids.
3. Experience in process engineering control plans, process capability analysis, and problem solving.
4. HNC/HND or equivalent experience.
5. Knowledge of first article inspection and engineering change management.
6. Experience in aerospace, military, manufacturing, or similar sector.
7. Lean manufacturing and NPI introduction experience.
Required Experience
1. Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
2. Ability to programme manufacturing equipment.
3. Demonstrated ability to manage project/challenging workloads.
4. Strong oral and written communication skills.
5. Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities.
