Job Title: HSEQ Coordinator Department: Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Location: Castleford Working Hours: 40 hours per week Job Overview: The HSEQ Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all health, safety, and quality standards are adhered to on-site. Reporting directly to the Site Manager and the Group Safety & Quality Manager UK, the successful candidate will assist the business in maintaining a safe and compliant environment for employees, contractors, and visitors. The role will also focus on supporting the efficient operation of the site, contributing to customer and employee satisfaction, and continuously improving health, safety, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure a comprehensive understanding of and adherence to all health, safety, and quality protocols and policies to ensure the safety of staff, contractors, and visitors. Document and report any incidents, accidents, non-conformances, or near misses, and drive corrective actions to address these issues. Assist in emergency situations and provide support to First Aiders and site management during incidents. Collaborate with the Site Manager and team to develop and implement new processes or measures aimed at improving health and safety standards. Ensure that all Risk Assessments are reviewed and updated at least annually. Safety & Quality Audits and Meetings: Lead and facilitate the Site’s monthly safety and quality committee meetings. Play an active role in internal unannounced quality and Zero Harm audits to assess compliance with safety and quality standards. Ensure that safety and quality objectives are met and continuously drive improvements across the site. Continuous Improvement & Support: Assist in designing and implementing measures that contribute to enhancing health and safety standards, as well as driving quality improvements. Identify potential risks and opportunities for process improvements and work with the site team to resolve issues and implement corrective measures. Skills & Qualifications: Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders at all levels. Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage details, establish root causes, and extract and analyze data to support decision-making. Strong analytical capabilities with a proven ability to solve problems efficiently and proactively. Practical & Intercultural Skills: A practical mindset, with the ability to adapt and shift between complex analyses and hands-on project and operations management tasks. Proactive & Results-Oriented: A sincere bias for action and a passion for driving results and production efficiency. Ability to prioritize tasks based on risk levels and work autonomously to meet objectives. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create impactful presentations for reports, projects, and training. Additional Requirements: Experience: Previous experience in a similar HSEQ role is desirable, with a strong understanding of health, safety, and quality protocols. Experience in conducting audits, risk assessments, and safety inspections would be beneficial. Certifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar HSEQ certifications would be advantageous but not essential. Working Conditions: On-Site with occasional travel required. Occasional work in both office and on-site environments, including factory floors and operational areas.
