The role is a great opportunity for someone who has existing expertise in this field and wishes to be involved in an exciting expansion project, which will help transform cancer pathways and enhance the experience of people with cancer.
The role will champion cancer and DA development that meets the needs of SWAG's broad range of cancer workforce employees. Facilitating delivery of the Macmillan Cancer and Domestic Abuse training package, you will build transparent inclusive training pathways, leading to increased cancer workforce awareness and expertise in cancer and DA.
You will have a passion for learning, and proven design and facilitation skills. A genuine interest in helping others develop, and working collaboratively with others in the team and wider organisation is vital. You will be working closely with SWAG, Acute Provider Lead Cancer Nurses, Clinical teams, Education leads and Safeguarding leads to ensure cancer and DA training pathways are informed around dynamic themes across the organisations and the wider SWAG Cancer Alliance.
Main duties of the job
The role will support the planning and delivery of the SWAG Cancer and DA Workforce Training project, working with the SWAG Project Manager and other key stakeholders across the programme area.
As a trainer / learning and development facilitator for cancer and DA, you will be delivering non-clinical development programmes using innovative methods of education to support classroom delivery, digital and work-based learning. You will be working across SWAG locations facilitating programmes, including engaging learners and their managers who are working in a dynamic and challenging environment. The majority of the role will be training delivery, and there will be opportunities to get involved in relevant SWAG training and development projects if capacity allows.
The role will report to the SWAG Project Support Coordinator and work closely with the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust Lead Cancer Nurse and Oncology Education Lead, who will provide clinical supervision and support to ensure synergy of content and purpose.
