We are looking to hire a Graduate Accountant reporting directly to the Management Accountant in our fast-paced, growing FTSE 250 listed global tech business.
In this role, you'll gain valuable experience in internal reporting over a three-year fixed-term contract. With support for a professional qualification, you'll develop the skills to take on responsibilities such as business partnering, month-end reporting, and providing commentary on the Group's cost base. You'll also contribute to the monthly management accounts and receive coaching to use data and tools for creating dashboards and reports that inform key business decisions. With your enthusiasm and eagerness to learn, you'll be a key player in this dynamic, business-facing team.
As a visible member of the Finance team, you will be an important contact for queries both internal to the organisation as well as for external stakeholders.
Our ever-expanding business is constantly changing. This role brings with it the opportunity to get involved with ad-hoc projects. As such, we are looking for someone with initiative and curiosity.
Responsibilities
Reporting into the Management Accountant, day-to-day, you will be responsible for:
* Business partnering with CEO, Finance, Sustainability and workplace departments, providing support and insight behind the numbers
* Posting of month end journals including accruals and prepayments
* Completion of relevant balance sheet reconciliations
* Supporting the Senior Finance Manager when preparing month end reporting packs and ad-hoc analysis
* Assisting with the audit process, providing support and responding to relevant queries
* Involved in the budgeting process, assisting the Finance Business Partner and Management Accountant where required
* Ad-hoc project work as and when the business need arises
Qualifications
* A 2:1 or above degree, preferably in an Accountancy/Finance-related course, or equivalent commercial experience
* Eager to gain an accounting qualification, with potential for rotation across other areas of the finance team
* Passionate and committed
* Keen to work in a growing, dynamic, and fast-paced company
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Confident in both written and verbal communication
* Able to build relationships and leverage them within the wider finance team and across the business
* Well-organised and able to manage and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines
* Analytically minded, able to investigate details while also considering the bigger picture
* Able to work both independently and as part of a team
