An exciting opportunity has arisen to be a member of a professional team that provides comprehensive, high quality waiting list management services for the University Hospitals Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holderwillbe responsible forthe management ofateammanaginga number ofwaiting lists within thesurgicalspecialtiesoperating Trust widein accordance withGovernment Access Standards, NHS Constitution and the Trust’s Patient Access Policy ensuring efficient and effective use of theatre and procedure sessions.
The post holder will be expected to work as part of theWaiting List OfficeTeam and will build relationships with key staff to ensure that the team contributes effectively to the common goal of providing an efficient and reliable service for patients.
Thepost holderwillmonitorand managetheatresessionsensuring that all lists are efficientlyutilisedand that anycapacityissues are escalatedin a timely mannerto thePatient CoordinationManager.

The post holderwill need to be open, honest and approachable. They must be able todemonstrateskills and abilities to motivate theWaiting List Officeteam and work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary staff. Thepost holdermust be flexible in their approach.

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
