Gateshead Council are looking to appoint a Specialist and Supported Housing Manager, within the Strategic Housing and Residential Growth. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to initiate, lead, manage and deliver the overall housing supply programme, contribute to the Council's area-based regeneration initiative and projects, and provide technical input into policies, processes and system development.

You must have…
Knowledge:
* Good understanding of Gateshead’s Thrive agenda, Housing, Planning, and Health & Wellbeing strategies.
* The regulatory and policy environment for housing development and regeneration.
* Good knowledge and understanding of relevant external funding regimes.
* Partnership working with key stakeholders.
* Project management tools and methodologies such as Prince 2.
* Procurement and contract management.
* Good political awareness.
Experience:
* Leading and managing specialist and supported housing projects including achievement of project targets and outcomes.
* Building and sustaining effective project teams.
* Effective report writing and production, ensuring governance requirements are met in a large organisation.
* Managing budgets, funding streams and contributing to budget planning and approvals.
* Effective communication, consultation and negotiation to and with a range of audiences.
* Successful relationship management of contractors, consultants and/or partners, including dispute resolution.
* Ability to identify project risks and issues, and their resolution.
* Excellent research and analytical skills.
* Understanding of the housing development process, the statutory planning system and relevant construction related regulations and statutory requirements.
Qualifications:
* Degree level qualification or professional construction related equivalent.
* Project Management qualification or equivalent level of experience.
* Full UK Driving licence.
