Duties Develop and implement purchasing strategies that enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions. Manage relationships with vendors to ensure quality service delivery and compliance with agreements. Monitor inventory levels and forecast future purchasing needs based on production schedules. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including logistics, finance, and operations to streamline processes. Analyse market trends to identify potential suppliers and assess risks associated with procurement. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data within purchasing systems. Experience Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within a manufacturing or distribution environment. Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and logistics management. Proficiency in using procurement systems such as Oracle EBS or SAP is highly desirable. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings. Ability to analyse data effectively to inform decision-making processes. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships at all levels. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure.
