We have an exciting opportunity for a pharmacy technician to join the Pharmacy Education and Training team, to work with the Lead Pharmacy Technician to support the education, training and development of staff across the current and future NHS Tayside Pharmacy Service.
As a member of the Education, Training and Development team you will be a point of contact and source of advice for line managers, pharmacy support staff and pharmacy technicians in relation to their education, training and development needs.
The Specialist Pharmacy Technician will support the management of the education and training of pharmacy support staff, pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians and post registration pharmacy technicians. The post holder will work in collaboration with NHS Education Scotland (NES), Further Education colleges and learning providers, Skills Development Scotland and NHS Tayside pharmacy teams.
This post will support the delivery of the Technical Apprenticeship Programme for Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians and the NES Vocational Training Foundation Programme for pharmacy technicians. This will require close collaboration with NES colleagues and engaging in national professional networks.
This post holder will have previous experience in one or more sectors including Primary Care, Hospital or Community Pharmacy and be registered with the GPhC. You should hold a work based assessor qualification recognised by SQA or be committed to undertake this at the earliest opportunity.
This position will be ideally suited to a pharmacy technician who thrives on helping others to maximise their learning opportunities in the workplace and who enjoys seeing others succeed.
Hours of work are: 22.3 hours per week.
