Job summary The post holder will be a member of CHSIST. We are a diverse team working innovatively within a think family agenda to include expertise in Adult, Children, (including Children Looked After) and Maternity Safeguarding. We are a large team with a range of expertise across safeguarding offering an exciting opportunity to join us as a specialist safeguarding advisor. The post holder will be a highly visible senior midwife and as such expected to provide support, knowledge, advice and clinical expertise to all staff in maternity services in all areas of safeguarding including children, young people and adults of concern. Main duties of the job Professional / Clinical To ensure that the Trust's systems and procedures for safeguarding pregnant women and their babies are regularly monitored, evaluated and reviewed to minimise risk in the antenatal period. Work closely with all the members of CHIST including named professionals and designated professionals and relevant partner agencies. To provide expert professional advice and support regarding safeguarding children to clinical staff and other front line staff within maternity services. This will also include issues relating to adult safeguarding and domestic violence. To ensure staff support and advice is readily available and that there is clear guidance as to whom to contact for out of hours.
