The Role
This post is a key role within the Corporate HR Team, and will lead the delivery of a number of our People Plan/Workforce Strategy priorities, taking responsibility for a range of work streams including:
* Lead initiatives and projects which develop and embed our people priorities: recruitment and retention, cost of living, development, digital/data and hybrid working, generating creative solutions and making independent decisions.
* Project initiation and management, from research to implementation, exploring the possible with a ‘can do’ attitude.
* Use data to identify solutions/initiatives which inform the development of plans/strategies.
* Provision of strategic policy and employment law advice including people implications, legislative changes and government initiatives.
* Supporting the HR/OD management team with new policy and strategy implementation.
* Contributing to the day-to-day activities within the Corporate HR Team.

About You
We are looking for someone who is innovative and progressive in their thinking with strong strategic awareness, to help drive forward the people/workforce strategy.
The ideal person will have experience of managing staff and projects in a complex organisation, working independently and working with stakeholders/partners to deliver timely and effective results.
An up-to-date knowledge and understanding of local government terms and conditions of employment, employment law and project management is advantageous alongside excellent communication and IT skills. A HR qualification or extensive HR experience is required.
The successful candidate will be ambitious for the service, able to think outside the box and push the boundaries, encouraging innovation and challenge to drive forward change, redefining the norm.

This is a fixed term role until 31st December 2025, full time (37 hours) role. Following an office-based induction period, hybrid working is available to staff in line with Council policy, with the expectation that the majority of working hours are completed in Bolton Town Hall.
