Job Title: Quality Gate Team Leader
Salary: £32,588 rising to £36,123 when role objectives are reached
Contract: Full time & permanent
Location: Desford, Leicestershire
The Opportunity:
As Quality Gate Team Leader within the Quality department, you will coach and co-ordinate a multi-disciplinary Product Quality team performing product quality audits to a checklist. You, as the Team Leader, are the important link between the Section Manager and Team Members.
What you will do:
As a Team Leader, you are accountable for, but not limited to:
* Continually monitor and audit Health & Safety, People, Quality, Velocity and cost metrics within your span of control as per Caterpillar Production System (CPS Guidelines).
* Ensure all relevant information is communicated to appropriate departments/personnel.
* Hold daily start of shift meetings.
* Respond to Quality issues and dispatch support resources as needed. Assist Root Cause Corrective Action investigations and activities.
* Train, coach and develop team members and maintain training documentation.
* Proactively plan for future quality, staffing, safety and production requirements and respond to unforeseen quality, staffing, safety and production matters, liaising with Section Manager with an immediate corrective action plan.

* People: Lead, motivate, evaluate, and recognise employees. Understanding the skills and experience of the team to highlight gaps and/or training/development needs and builds high performing teams and talent pipelines.
* Talent Management: Actions processes on recruiting, leading, motivating, evaluating, developing and rewarding people. Transforms resistance into support and supports those needing development.
* Quality Operations: Communicates across departments to ensure a smooth workflow. Proactively reviews daily operations to ensure Quality and production targets and forecasts are achieved.
* Safety: Proactive in managing safety standards and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Foster psychological safety and team engagement, ensuring open communication and collaboration across diverse groups.
* Process Improvement: Evaluates Quality methods and maintains focus, with team input, on promoting the continuous improvement of processes and products utilising lean, Six Sigma and drive innovation.
* Quality Knowledge: Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and quality standards, using these to determine product/part conformity with a keen attention to detail.
What You May Have:
* Assembly and rework experience.
* Previous Auditing/Inspection experience.
* Previous supervisory experience.
