Directorate: Social Care Health Integration&Wellbeing Section: Telecare and Lifelines Grade: Level 7 plus shift enhancements Actual Salary: £30,060 - £32,654 Hours: 37 This advert is open to both Internal and External applicants. The Telecare and Lifeline Service provides assistive technology (such as a community alarm pendant) in people’s homes in order to summon emergency assistance when needed. We are looking for Responders to help to cover our busy 24/7 rotas. The Responders provide a rapid response for people who have fallen, or who need assistance but do not require an ambulance. You will be required to assess and provide the appropriate intervention, whether itis lifting clients (using specialist lifting equipment and safe techniques which you will be taught) after a fall, casualty support to advanced first aid level, or escalation to the appropriate emergency service. Alongside the response part of the role, you will also be required to undertake call handling within the Control Centre to support both the Lifeline service and the City Council’s “Out of Hours” emergency service. You will also be required to provide installation and maintenance of some assistive technology in client’s homes. The role requires experience in working under pressure in a lone working environment and dealing with distressing situations. You will also need skills in problem solving and excellent skills in time management and working to tight deadlines. You will also need experience with IT and Microsoft packages and technical skills appropriate to the installation of assistive technology. Candidates will require the ability and willingness to acquirethe necessary knowledge and skills to be accredited in Advanced First Aid, Lifting techniques, AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and Oxygen Therapy training, Trusted Assessor and a range of other skills required for the role.
