About The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced technical lead in Geomatics, Survey & Reality Capture to support the growth of our progressive Geospatial team. In this role, you will work with a range of clients and teams to manage the acquisition, analysis and presentation of geomatics data concerning the natural and built environment. With access to an expanding range of market sectors, you will deliver dynamic, innovative solutions to internal and external clients. The current portfolio of work ranges from imagery capture for visualisation projects, to GPR sub-surface utility scanning projects, to topographical survey and laser-scanning activities for complex design, construction and asset-management projects. This role can be based in Manchester, Newcastle, Cumbria or Birchwood. Key Responsibilities - Leadership to the Geomatics & Survey discipline - Technical oversight to survey campaigns including operating standards, equipment specification, method statements, risk assessments, quality assurance and quality control - Use of survey equipment on site and supervisory role to other surveyors; setting and maintaining appropriate standards of accuracy and integrity - Making technical and supervisory decisions for assigned projects within limits of authority - Managing the storage, analysis and outputs of acquired geomatics data - Developing and reviewing quotations for new work, including Intelligent Customer role for our procurement and review of survey work from sub-contractors and partners - Building market position and client relationships to aid our strategic growth - Maintaining high level of industry awareness and technologist experience to deliver creative solutions for a variety of client challenges - Assisting the Geospatial Lead on managing opportunity pipeline and team development Here's What You'll Need: - University educated - Bachelor's degree in relevant subject or equivalent - I ndustry accreditation - Chartered Member (MRICS) - Demonstrable leadership experience delivering Geomatics, Survey & Reality Capture work for a range of sectors and clients - Expert understanding of scanning and surveying tools, techniques and digital workflows, including: - Remote sensing, topographical and geodetic surveys - Laser-scanning and measured building survey for design, construction and as-built purposes - GPR near-surface scanning for buried services, utilities and void detection, scoped and delivered in accordance with PAS 128:2022 specification - Demonstrable experience in quality and environmental management systems as well as legal requirements (legal surveys and legislations) and project governance - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, creativity with an attention to detail - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, building strong relationships based on mutual trust and respect - Strong personal management and timekeeping skills - Driven and motivated to succeed, with a high level of personal accountability - Excellent communication, presentation and technical report writing skills - Full UK driving licence for travel to site locations - Flexibility and preparedness to spend some time on site away from their base office Desirable skills - University educated - RICS-accredited degree and / or Masters degree in relevant subject - Experience of GIS software, databases and systems integration - Experience with task automation and programming e.g. FME, SQL, Python - Experience of working on UK nuclear licensed site and / or MOD site - CAA flyer and operator licence for UAV / drone survey - CAA PDRA01 authorisation for UAV flight in residential, commercial and industrial areas Our Culture Our values stand on a foundation of safety, integrity, inclusion and diversity.
