Role Overview
The Finance Director - Fleet will report to the Managing Director of the Fleet subsidiary and functionally to Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s Executive Director of Finance. Responsibilities include strategic financial management, commercial profitability, and capital management, supporting the Trust's goal of improving patient care.
You will lead a team of 50 office-based staff and a field account management team. The role also involves overseeing the finance of NHS Home Electronics.
Main Duties
* Ensure efficient financial systems and business focus
* Lead corporate reporting and interactions with audit/regulatory bodies
* Investigate and communicate complex financial issues
* Ensure statutory returns are accurate
* Advise on financial matters related to Trust investments
* Develop and deliver financial presentations
* Assist in managing the Fleet business performance
* Achieve financial targets and present at national forums
* Formulate and measure KPIs
* Provide leadership and management guidance
* Develop and review relevant policies
* Manage cost-effective services meeting Trust’s strategic needs
* Serve as the principal contact for key client financial enquiries
* Support growth and profitability of the Fleet business
* Identify partnership opportunities and manage stakeholder relationships
* Ensure compliance with HMRC and other regulatory guidelines
* Analyse business data and maintain knowledge of sector developments
Candidate Profile
* Qualified accountant with relevant experience
* Knowledge of NHS Financial Management is desirable
* Experience in a commercial environment
* Track record of achieving KPIs and performance targets
* Strong negotiation and influence skills
* Ability to present complex financial information to diverse audiences
* Experience in leading complex change projects
* Expertise in financial analysis and advice
* Attention to detail and accuracy in a busy environment
* Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills
