Role and Purpose:
We are seeking a talented and creative Senior UI Artist to join our team. As a Senior UI Artist, you will be responsible for designing and directing the creation of visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces for our game development projects. You will collaborate closely with our internal teams and co-development partners to ensure that our games provide an exceptional user experience. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled UI artist who stays up to date with the latest design & art trends and technologies and possesses excellent visual design and communication abilities.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the creation of visually stunning and intuitive user interfaces for AAA games projects, following best practices in user-centred design.
* Collaborate with producers, designers, and artists to understand project requirements and translate them into engaging and user-friendly UI designs.
* Create mock-ups and prototypes using industry-standard design tools, effectively communicating UI concepts and interactions.
* Help manage the day-to-day progress of UI development and ensure compliance with project specific update/feedback/production processes.
* Work with the Production team to support the planning of the UI requirements of our games, so that we have a realistic view of what’s required and a plan to deliver it across the game’s development.
* Lead by example, keeping an enthusiastic attitude for the project whilst motivating and supporting a diverse team.
* Participate in staff interviews, onboarding, mentorship programs and performance reviews, fostering skill development and skillset growth.
* Ensure consistency and coherence in visual design and artistic direction for each individual project.
* Stay up to date with the latest UI design & art trends, tools, and technologies, and apply them to enhance the overall user experience.
Requirements:
* Proven experience and shipped titles in a Senior UI role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual design skills, a keen eye for detail and originality.
* Experienced in industry-standard tools, such as Photoshop, Figma, and Unreal.
* Proficiency in motion graphics and visual effects.
* A strong understanding of games production and art pipeline.
* Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of creating assets/iconography appropriate for in-game use, optimising graphics, and devising solutions for complex implementation challenges.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Proactive and self-motivated.
* A passion for gaming and a commitment to delivering captivating gaming experiences.
* Bachelor’s degree in design, art, or a related field.
* Fundamental art theory knowledge.
* An eye for logo and branding.
* Able to paint, work in 3D, and/or animate.
* Experience designing for AAA titles or complex entertainment applications.
* Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
* Experience collaborating with remote or distributed teams.
* An understanding of HTML, C++ or C# programming languages.
