Main purpose of the role:
To clean and maintain plant, buildings, and grounds in order to provide suitable conditions for the safe and efficient operation of the plant. No two days are the same, and you will have unique opportunities to maintain environmental and safety compliance standards and any general assistance within the maintenance team. We will ensure that you have the relevant training and experience required to do this.
Key responsibilities:
1. To carry out lubrication of machines and plant and assist qualified Technician to conduct their machine servicing role.
2. Working on APCR - Air Pollution Control Residue.
3. To actively assist with minor repairs to serviceable equipment (re-joining of pipework, replacing of grease nipples, tightening of flanges).
4. To assist the Mechanical Maintenance Technicians in task completion in all operational areas and to carry out the duties of the Operator/Technician in his/her absence.
5. Undertaking maintenance duties in accordance with procedures, manuals, and checklists.
6. Maintaining tools, equipment, lifting equipment, and the workshop to good standard.
7. Operate Forklift truck, overhead crane, and pendant crane.
8. Completing appropriate documentation relating to planned maintenance system.
9. Reporting and rectifying any Health and Safety related incidents within the department and general site.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Previous mechanical experience would be very advantageous.
2. Must be aware of and adhere to safe working practices.
3. Previous experience working with industrial cleaning equipment or driving plant machinery and equipment would be beneficial.
4. A full driving license and experience of operating a small plant is advantageous.
5. You must be able to work in confined spaces and carry out work at height.
6. Basic level of literacy and numeracy to be able to understand safety instructions and writing assessments and use digital mobile technology.
7. This role operates a staggered shift pattern which includes 12 hour day shifts, weekends, night shifts, and being on-call, so your personal circumstances must permit availability for response to being “called in” outside of normal working hours.
