We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at a school in Hulme, Manchester. Location: Hulme Position Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Role Overview: As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-to-one and small group support to children across different year groups. You will work with children who have a range of needs, including learning, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them to access the curriculum and engage fully in their education. Your role will involve supporting children both inside the classroom and outside in other areas of school life. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one support to individual children with a range of needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and make progress. Assist in small group work to support children's academic, social, and emotional development. Adapt teaching materials and approaches to suit the individual needs of children, helping them to engage in lessons. Work closely with class teachers to implement strategies for supporting children's learning and development. Support children with additional needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges, in a calm and supportive manner. Help children with personal care when necessary, ensuring they are comfortable and able to participate fully in activities. Monitor and track children's progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required. Key Qualities & Skills: Experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly those with a range of learning and behavioural needs. Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting children's individual needs. A positive attitude and the ability to engage children of different ages and abilities. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential. A willingness to undertake training and development to support your role.
