Description NOV ISE Operations is the global manufacturing and supply chain organization of the NOV ISE Division, supporting the requirements of the Wireline Products, Pressure Performance Systems, and Well Intervention & Control Equipment product lines. NOV ISE, a subsidiary company of National Oilwell Varco (NOV), has over 1,000 people spread across 13 major sites providing a global foot print in support of our client’s requirements. We now have a position for a Buyer to join the team in Kintore who will report to the Tactical Lead Buyer. The role will involve sourcing and planning materials and components in support of the manufacturing Production Schedule. You will need to be highly motivated, proactive, organised and possesses a good working knowledge of Supply Chain scheduling and manufacturing processes. Good IT and analytical skills are essential, including high numerical capabilities to ensure the delivery of our key business objectives. Fabrication or manufacturing experience is beneficial but not required, as training will be provided. Having the necessary skills and capacity to meet a demanding customer delivery schedule, is key to the success of this role. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Manage daily procurement transactions, including requisitions, purchase orders, change orders, and supplier validation. Monitor and expedite late purchase and works orders, liaising closely with the planning department to meet production schedules. Proactively manage stock levels in collaboration with the planning department to ensure optimal supply. Develop and monitor supplier performance to improve on-time delivery, product quality, and reduce lead times. Identify and implement cost improvement initiatives through product, vendor, and design changes. Resolve invoice issues by conducting detailed analysis and working with suppliers to resolve payment barriers. Support product changes and new product introductions in collaboration with engineering and supply chain teams. Identify and mitigate risks in the equipment supply chain, proposing solutions to ensure uninterrupted supply. Conduct vendor analysis and establish beneficial supply agreements to enhance operational efficiency. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to drive procurement and supply chain optimization. Skills & Experience Required: Essential: Strong knowledge of purchasing from machine and fabrication suppliers. Experience in a manufacturing, inventory management, or planning environment. Proficient in IT skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, and other MS Office applications. Desirable: CIPS qualifications. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related discipline. Experience in Oil & Gas or a related field. ERP system experience (e.g., Sage, Oracle). Experience presenting to cross-functional teams. Familiarity with Lean & Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement techniques, and QA methodologies. What NOV can offer you?
