At University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust we want to recruit a number of Cleaning and Catering Assistants to our Temporary Staffing Bureau to create a bank of temporary workers who are keen to work flexibly across Weston.
As a Bank Cleaning and Catering Assistant you will work within the Facilities team which provides an appropriate environment for patient care.
Duties include general cleaning, the preparation and presentation of patients’ meals and drinks and some portering duties.
You will be allocated duties from the key tasks listed below and will be expected to demonstrate a flexible attitude to work, to meet the needs of service delivery to the patients within Healthcare premises.
Most of the shifts we have available are term time -please note that while the bank is flexible, the more availability that you have, the more shifts you will be able to work.
Cleaning
You will undertake general cleaning of clinical and non-clinical areas providing a safe and hygienic environment for patient care, including:
• Vacuuming and dusting
• Mopping floors
• Cleaning toilets and bathrooms
• Cleaning beds and re-making with clean linen
• Safely managing and collecting clinical and non-clinical waste
Catering
You will assist with the preparation and presentation of meals and drinks for inpatients on wards, including:
• Cooking frozen meals
• Recording temperatures of meals before serving
• Serving drinks to patients, serving meals when clinical staff are unavailable
• Clearing up after mealtimes
• Cleaning kitchen and dining room areas
• Collecting and delivering food trolleys throughout our hospitals
Training and Shift Patterns
You will be required to complete training shifts which include:
• 4 full days of skills training in week
• Shifts in both cleaning and catering to ensure you are competent in both
Please be aware, for your training compliance it is best that these shifts are completed close together. You won't be able to book shifts until all of your training is completed.
