The Role
To be the pharmacy lead for the Pharmacist Prescribing led clinic service in Substance Misuse
To act as a role model in delivery of pharmacy led clinics for approximately 80 – 100 substance misuse patients and the be autonomous and directly responsible for the care and prescribing of these patients
To develop service provision by self and multidisciplinary colleagues and also to ensure practice is kept up to date
To evaluate / audit service delivery by self and others in order to ensure a quality service is delivered

Qualifications & Training
Masters of Pharmacy Degree
Member of General Pharmaceutical Council
Pharmacist Independent Prescriber
of General Practitioners, Certificate in the Management of Drug Misuse in Primary Care, Part 2
Postgraduate higher degree/diploma in clinical pharmacy (or similar), or demonstrable evidence of clinical knowledge equivalent to that level.
Demonstrable commitment to CPD
Experience
6 years post registration experience with a minimum of 3-years experience as a clinical pharmacist practitioner.
Clinical experience in relevant patient group.
Previous experience in delivering prescribing clinic(s)
Demonstrable use of clinical audit to improve practice.
Experience in staff supervision/ training / development
Knowledge
Experience in patient information/education
Identifies a vision for the delivery of pharmaceutical services to required patient population.
Demonstrable expert clinical knowledge and skills.
Demonstrate advanced level of clinical reasoning and judgement.
Manage difficult and ambiguous problems.
Skills/Abilities
Have a range and level of skills i.e. communication (oral, written, presentation), planning/organisation, numeracy, leadership etc.
Ability to identify and prioritise clinical work.
Ability to identify and manage risks.
Ability to tolerate uncertainty and deal with unplanned demands on a daily basis.
Ability to work autonomously and be self motivated
Ability to evaluate own practice
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, in a pharmacy and multi-disciplinary environment
Proven project/practice research/audit skills with the ability to integrate research into practice
Specific Job Requirements
Use of IT systems
Driving between clinic locations
Willingness to contribute to the general working of the multidisciplinary substance misuse team
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
Post graduate qualification in addiction / substance misuse (or working towards)
Demonstrable evidence of clinical knowledge/ service provision and development relating to substance misuse services
Delivery of prescribing clinic in addiction / substance misuse
Broad experience of pharmacy practice
Knowledge of relevant national standards and guidelines pertaining to pharmacy and substance misuse
Sound therapeutic and practical skills for dealing with a complex range of pharmaceutical interventions
Ability to integrate research into practice and vice versa
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to evaluate own work
Ability to identify own training needs
Demonstrable evidence of delivering/developing education and training to a range of professions

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in NHS Lanarkshire Area Wide
The working pattern for this role Mon-Fri; 9:00-5:00 pro rata.
