Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Deputy Construction Manager to support the successful delivery of a new-build power generation site. The role will involve assisting the Construction Manager in overseeing site operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, managing subcontractors, and maintaining project timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist
in managing the overall site construction activities to ensure project
milestones are met.
Coordinate
with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project
execution.
Monitor
project progress and report updates to the Construction Manager and senior
management.
Ensure
all construction activities comply with relevant health, safety, and
environmental regulations.
Support
in managing risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work
systems.
Supervise
site staff, subcontractors, and ensure work is completed to the highest
quality standards.
Assist
in resolving any on-site technical or construction-related issues.
Maintain
accurate records of project progress, inspections, and compliance reports.
Work
collaboratively with engineering, procurement, and commissioning teams to
align construction activities with project objectives.
Key Requirements:
Experience:
Proven experience in construction management within the power generation,
energy, or heavy infrastructure sector.
Technical
Knowledge:
Familiarity with power generation technologies, site
infrastructure, and heavy plant installation.
Health
& Safety:
Strong knowledge of CDM regulations, HSE guidelines, and
construction best practices.
Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate teams, manage multiple
workstreams, and maintain a strong safety culture.
Communication:
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with
internal and external stakeholders.
IT
Skills:
Proficiency in construction management software, MS Project,
and reporting tools.
Certifications
(Desirable):
SMSTS, IOSH/NEBOSH, CSCS Black/Gold Card.
