Semester Recruitment specializes in supporting young people ages 5-18 in supported living, semi-independent accommodation, and children’s residential homes.
We are currently looking for Support and Youth Workers to provide ongoing support to Care Leavers in the area.
Great flexibility with shifts and the rotas.
Rates from £14.50 an hour and £75 for sleep shifts – full and part-time possible.
Our client is a leading provider of care to children and young people in the area and they are currently recruiting for Support Workers on a long-term temporary basis.
Shifts are typically 24-hour sleepovers; however, day/night shifts are also possible.
Although temporary, this is full-time and ongoing with no end date.
This position involves supporting Care Leavers aged between 15-18, helping to increase their independence skills.
It is essential that you have experience of working within a similar setting and preferably have completed NVQ3 in Children & Young People Workforce or a similar qualification within this sector.
Qualifications/Requirements
1. High standard of general education
2. NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care – Children and Young People (CCYP) or equivalent
3. Willingness to undertake further training
4. Current full driving licence with business insurance preferable
Job Purpose
To be responsible for the provision of support for vulnerable people (service users) for the company.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. To assist the young person's allocated Social Worker in the delivery of the service:
1. Provide transport/escort to the young person as directed in line with care plans
2. Conduct welcome and induction for young people
3. Ongoing assessments of service users’ needs
4. Provide ongoing support and monitoring of service users
5. Assist in welfare and NHS issues
6. Preparation of reports
7. Arrange appointments with various partner agencies
8. Maintain regular contact with young people
9. Inform customers of support groups
10. Assist with the move-on of service users
Some shifts may also be 24 hours (sleepovers); great flexibility and 2-3 days a week would be full-time hours. Excellent company with a great unit.
