Job Description:
Technical Engineering Support (TES) is an engineering firm established over 30 years ago, specializing in test coordination and industrial commissioning. TES also assists its clients with their participation in design studies and the coordination of industrial equipment assembly.
As part of our activities, we have a position available for a NSSS Piping Installation Supervisor (f/m) for the Hinkley-Point EPR project in the UK.
Being part of the NSSS organisation, the main objective of the role is to supervise the NSSS piping installation on field. The main purpose is to ensure the productivity of the NSSS piping activities, by fulfilling the Health and Safety expectations, by respecting the quality and technical requirements, by following up the progress on site, by coordinating the site activities with other contractors, by checking the implementation of the site request (NCR/FCR/RFI).
Responsibilities include:
1. Managing the safety of activities in line with the CDM Regulations.
2. First contact in safety matters on site with authority over Contractor to stop work.
3. Participating in the weekly safety tour.
4. Enforcing installation requirements on site with authority over Contractor.
5. Maintaining preservation and cleanliness daily.
6. Escalating issues from other contractors.
7. Leading the transfer of room (TAC).
8. Alerting the Piping Project Manager in case of drift.
9. Ensuring interfaces within NNB, mainly with MEHA and access/scaffolding.
10. Monitoring conformity of work progress on site with the 4 Weeks Look Ahead Time-Schedule.
11. Controlling work progress and ensuring clearance of site blockage points under NNB's responsibility.
12. Implementing permit to work based on CDM regulations.
13. Reporting progress to the Project Manager and Site Lead Supervisor.
14. Checking implementation of Open Points (NCR, FCR, RFI).
15. Implementing the supervision programme for piping activities.
16. Validating on site at the end of installation by conducting random checking activities.
Minimum Requirements:
* Proven experience working in an equivalent/related role in the construction industry (minimum 10 years of experience).
* Meticulous and rigorous approach to field supervision to achieve high professional standards.
* Excellent oral communication skills to ensure smooth connection between relevant stakeholders.
* Strong people leadership skills to coordinate efficient delivery of Construction Team and ensure quick and efficient review of installation documentation.
* Ability to work autonomously but with awareness of own limitations.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree in Welding / Mechanical bachelor.
* Detailed understanding of PWR design and construction.
