DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES 2755 Highway 43, Kemptville, Ontario K0G 1J0 phone: 613-258-7757 toll free: 1-800-443-4562 hrcdsbeo.on.ca October 30, 2024 VACANCY OECTA 8081 Position: School Based Math Facilitator (Term Position) Location: St. Joseph CSS, Cornwall and other Elementary and Secondary Schools Salary: As per Collective Agreement FTE: 1.00 Effective: Immediately June 27, 2025 Summary: Under the supervision of the Principal of Math Learning in Schools, the School-based Math Facilitators will foster the goals of the Learning Tenet of the Board Improvement & Equity Plan by supporting student learning in priority schools in Grades 3, 6 and 9 classrooms. The Math Facilitator will work directly with students who require additional support, provide in-class facilitation to strengthen math knowledge and pedagogy, support consistent and intentional implementation of high-impact instructional practices and early intervention strategies, and complete other duties as assigned. The Math Facilitator will be assigned to a family of schools that have been identified by the Ministry of Education as a priority, and work in these schools to support the students and assist the teachers in monitoring progress towards improvement targets. Qualifications: Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate; Primary/Junior/Intermediate Math qualifications; Special education qualifications and/or experience supporting students receiving special education programs and/or services; Religious Education Part 1 would be considered an asset; Deep knowledge of the Ontario math curriculum (2020 and 2021); Extensive knowledge about instruction and pedagogy in numeracy, including high impact instructional practices and intervention strategies in mathematics; Extensive knowledge of assessment, evaluation and reporting practices in alignment with Growing Success, the Institute for Catholic Education and the Ontario Ministry of Education and Board directives; Demonstrated effective leadership and experience in working with Board and school teams, and expertise in the planning and delivery of job- embedded teacher professional development; Ability to use tact and discretion, and maintain information in the strictest of confidence; Excellent organizational, communication and coordination skills; Must be self-directed and detail-oriented. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel to rural schools across the CDSBEO are required.
