We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Family Support Workers to join our Children’s Disability Family Support Team. In this role, you will be responsible for completing family assessments of need, identifying appropriate support packages, and creating plans of support to empower families to thrive. You will also be responsible for regularly reviewing these plans to ensure that they continue to meet the evolving needs of the children and families you work with.
What We’re Looking For
1. Previous experience working with children or families, preferably within the disability sector.
2. Proven experience in conducting assessments of need and developing support plans.
3. Strong understanding of the challenges faced by families with disabled children and a commitment to empowering families to find solutions.
4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and other professionals.
5. Knowledge of relevant legislation, including safeguarding and child protection policies.
6. Ability to manage a caseload and work independently, while also being part of a collaborative team.
7. Compassion, patience, and flexibility in supporting families during difficult times.
8. A relevant qualification in social care, health, or related field (e.g NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent) or evidence of the equivalent knowledge gained through work experience.
