Marshalls Landscape Protection provides protective street furniture, designed to promote the safety of shared urban spaces. Part of the Marshalls Group, Landscape Protection has an extensive collection of products including bollards, planters, and seating. Our portfolio offers everything required to develop urban areas in terms of both public safety and aesthetic appeal.
We're now recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join our busy manufacturing department at our North Shields site.
What's the mission?
In this exciting role, you will be accountable for the prioritization of engineering activities at our North Shields site, ensuring that standards for health, safety and environment, quality, people, and performance are delivered on both a personal and team level. You will play a key role in supporting and developing a strategy with the Site Operations Manager to meet and exceed KPIs in all areas, by ensuring that business objectives are embedded in the site culture, engaging your colleagues to create and sustain a proactive culture, and instilling a proactive approach to the prevention of equipment failure and downtimes.
In this role, you will be supporting the production of our extensive range of protective street furniture and counter-terrorism products. If you're an enthusiastic team player with a willingness to succeed and develop new skills, we want to hear from you!
What are the mission-critical skills?
* Electrical and/or mechanical qualifications / time served apprenticeship
* ONC/HNC or equivalent in engineering related subject
* Hold 17th/18th Edition Certificate
* Experience in a medium/large manufacturing operation with relevant safety systems, quality standards, and housekeeping standards
* Able to demonstrate the use of data / analytical skills
* Some experience of continuous improvement/lean manufacturing techniques
* Experience of fault finding and rectification
* Able to use initiative when working alone
* Able to work as part of a team
* Good technical communication skills
* Can read & understand technical drawings (mechanical & electrical)
* Ability to use Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)
