Sales Executive / Account Manager– Sales Department Location: 25 Barnes Wallis Road, Parkgate, Fareham, PO15 5TT Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 (DOE) OTE Bonus ⏰ Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM About Us Optimus Flowers is a market leader in the fresh-cut flower industry, supplying premium quality flowers to wholesalers, repackers and retailers across the UK and internationally. With a strong network of growers and a reputation for excellence, we are looking for a dynamic Account Manager to join our Sales Team. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in perishables or fresh produce who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and wants to build long-term customer relationships. Key Responsibilities Account Management & Customer Relations - Independently manage a dedicated portfolio of wholesale, online, and retail customers. - Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships. - Conduct periodic customer visits to strengthen business relationships. - Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring smooth order processes and issue resolution. - Provide holiday cover for colleagues by familiarising yourself with other customers in the department. Sales & Business Development - Focus on developing existing customer accounts while also identifying and bringing in new business opportunities. - Meet and exceed sales targets, driving revenue growth through strategic account planning. - Negotiate pricing and supply agreements, ensuring competitive yet profitable deals. - Work closely with customers to identify sales trends and tailor offers accordingly. Operational & Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with logistics and operations teams to manage customer expectations - Work closely with procurement to ensure a smooth fulfilment for customers - Use Florisoft (our sales system) for order processing, sales tracking, and reporting (training provided if needed). - Monitor stock levels and coordinate with supply chain teams to manage customer demand effectively. - Ensure accurate forecasting and contribute to sales planning discussions. Who We’re Looking For Essential Skills & Experience: ✅ Proven sales/account management experience in perishables, fresh produce or floral industries. ✅ Experience managing wholesaler, repackers, or retail accounts. ✅ Strong commercial awareness, with excellent negotiation and business development skills. ✅ Ability to work independently, taking ownership of a customer base while supporting the wider team when required. ✅ Excellent relationship management skills, with the confidence to visit and engage customers face-to-face. ✅ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, particularly during peak seasons. ✅ Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and adaptable mindset. ✅ Comfortable using sales & CRM systems (Florisoft experience is a plus, but training will be provided). Desirable Skills: ➕ Prior experience working in the floral industry or perishable supply chains. ➕ Knowledge of perishable goods What We Offer Competitive salary of £30,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience). OTE bonus structure based on individual performance. Hybrid working: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote (full-time in-office during training) available, but we would prefer the candidate to be office based.
