Duties: To provide outstanding Safeguarding and wellbeing support for all students, particularly for the most vulnerable To undertake the role of the college’s Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring full compliance with KCSIE statutory guidance and other relevant legislation, as well as our college’s policies and procedures Providing support, expertise and guidance to staff on all safeguarding, prevent and child protection matters. Manage the college’s safeguarding register including the Urgent Attendance Alert Register in line with college processes and procedures. Ensuring that students are robustly safeguarded and provided with timely and effective support and interventions. Work in collaboration with other campus DDSLs to ensure an aligned and high-quality approach across all college campuses Line Management of the Bursary Officer and Administrator Develop and maintain strong and effective professional relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies, completing timely referrals and proactively seeking appropriate support and interventions for students. Provide college representation at local and wider forums developing initiatives, sharing best practice and enhancing partnership working. Skills/Experience: Effective knowledge of Safeguarding processes and procedures. Significant experience of working with external agencies, and stakeholders Including social care, health, charities Recent experience of supporting children and vulnerable adults with their mental health and understanding the barriers to learning faced Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with students, agencies, parents/carers Capacity to use IT systems to record and manage student interventions Qualifications: Educated to degree level or equivalent level of experience of working in HE/FE sector.
