Duties
The Team leader is expected to carry out the following duties:
1. To provide excellent customer service:
o Greet and welcome customers to Subway, serve quality made sandwiches to customer specification.
o Food preparation:
+ Prepare vegetables; pan, retard and bake bread; prepare meat setups, and ensure front counter is well stocked with fresh produce.
+ Be competent in preparation of party platter and giant sub orders including being able to make recommendations to customers of suitable order quantities and items.
o Weekly Procedures:
+ Perform weekly inventory procedures as per operations manual.
o Paperwork and cash handling:
+ Carry out cash-ins, use cash register.
+ Perform one-minute cash-ins at the end of each shift, prior to handing over to a new team leader, and report all cash discrepancies to the store manager.
o Cleaning:
+ Ensure all cleaning duties are performed in accordance with the store cleaning procedures.
+ Ensure customer area and back room is kept clean and tidy; take part in the cleaning rota.
o First Aid:
+ Act as the 1st aid appointed person (see team leader rules and guide for more information).
o Opening / closing store:
+ Perform store opening and closing procedures as per the store operations / procedures guide.
o Deputising duties:
+ Deputise for the store manager at any time the store manager or assistant store manager are not present.
o Paid Outs:
+ To do paid outs when purchasing items that are required for the day to day running of the business. All receipts for items purchased must be kept and given in at the end of day to the manager.
o Check and enter deliveries:
+ To check all deliveries and note any discrepancies between items ordered and items delivered. Must also be able to enter deliveries onto till.
o Health and Safety:
+ Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with the company Health and Safety policy.
+ Be responsible for seeing that work carried out is conducted in a safe fashion so as to avoid any unnecessary hazards.
+ Ensure that an adequate number of appointed persons or first-aiders are available during their period of cover.
+ Notifying the manager of any accident (whether requiring the services of a first aid person or not so that this may be recorded in the accident book).
+ Ensuring any evacuation procedures (including arrangements for any disabled customers or staff needing assistance) are carried out in accordance with those procedures.
o Staff training and recruitment:
+ Perform staff training as per the training procedures.
+ Assist store manager with staff recruitment.
o Staff supervision:
+ Provide guidance and supervision to all staff in Subway operation procedures.
+ Ensure all trainees are closely supervised and that each has a trainer assigned to assist them in their initial weeks at Subway.
+ Provide guidance to young persons as per the young person’s procedure and risk assessments.
+ Perform any other duties that are commensurate with the position or duties requested by the store manager or assistant store manager.

Pay: £10.50-£12.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 39 per week
