Job summary Band 4 (or 3-4 development post) Therapy Assistant Practitioners A fantastic opportunity has arisen to appoint several Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioners or consideration for B3-4 developmental posts. The therapy assistant practitioner posts are for our Front Door Therapy Team working within accident and emergency, Frailty Same Day Emergency, other emergency areas and community with our experienced Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. Our team aims to maximise an individual's abilities, with a focus on patient-centred goals, whilst enabling a safe discharge from hospital. With good MDT working and strong links with our community colleagues, our friendly team work together, helping to support patient flow, ensuring a smooth transition between hospital and community settings. These posts would be ideal for someone who has experience as a therapy assistant (Physio or Occupational Therapy) with the required qualifications for this role commencing as a Band 4, and also for someone who would like to develop in their career to a Band 4. Training is available to support with this opportunity. The Front Door Therapy Team provides an 8am till 8 pm service and candidates might required to travel across sites. Note: This vacancy will not commence until after 01/05/2025 Main duties of the job The role requires the successful candidate to work as part of a team to manage a designated workload (within a scope of practice), maintain appropriate records, and accept accountability and responsibility for their own actions. The post holder will need to be able to work autonomously, with close supervision/support from a qualified team member, and as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team. There will be opportunities to engage in service developments and training and the post holder will assist with the supporting and skill development of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff including assistants, apprentices and students. To evaluate patient's progress and use own judgement to make amendments to the treatment programme within their scope of practice. To undertake administrative and some house-keeping duties to support the Therapy service. The post holder will be required to work Bank Holidays & weekends as part of a rota.
