Technical Buyer Work in a fast-growing company based in the UK with a newly-established US office. This is a highly technical field that offers the opportunity to work in one of the fastest growing global industries with some of the biggest and most cutting-edge technology and aerospace companies in the world. This role will be primarily supporting the company with technical buying of their products but also the wider business with any administration needs. Key Responsibilities Manage the buying process for a specific set of goods, adhering to cost, quality, and delivery targets. Inputting/sending Purchase Orders. Checking/Inputting/sending Sales Orders. Raising Reject orders and chasing up suppliers. Apply sourcing policies and act as an interface between suppliers and the organisation about specifications and budgets. Functional skills and knowledge related to purchasing and sourcing concepts. Monitor market trends, and supplier performance. Research and evaluate areas for cost reduction and operational efficiency. Prepare updates and reports as required by the senior management team. Negotiate contracts, improve prices, and review opportunities for business savings. Assess and evaluate suppliers, ensuring contract compliance and managing performance improvement activities. Maintain a professional approach in all supplier relationships, adhering to company guidelines and purchasing policies. Maintain and update our supplier database accordingly. Dealing with customer care issues promptly and efficiently in conjunction with our technical sales team. Supplier appraisal visits. Other duties Sales administrations support (adding BP’s / adding P/Ns / editing drawings) Reading and signing of NDA’s Filling out new customer request forms for getting us set up on their systems. Completing for all relevant departments. Maintain the relationship with our shipping courier, monitoring the charges and highlighting any onward undercharges to customers. Working closely with ISO auditor within KO for continuous improvements with suppliers. HR administration (filling of records) P/A support to director General office admin (booking company events / meals etc) Qualifications and experience: Essential: Qualified to CIPS Certificate in Procurement & Supply Operations level 3 - desirable Strong technical knowledge related to the goods and materials that are being purchased or similar technical related industry. Experience gained within light manufacturing organisations, preferably experience of purchasing materials such as optical components. Effective negotiator and communicator. Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. IT literate with a good working knowledge of excel, word and MS office. Knowledge of accounting software Driven and able to set personal targets for supplier improvements. Full UK driving licence. Desirable Relevant industry experience and/ or an interest in science and industry.
