Outpatient Network are currently looking for Pre-Op Nurses to work with us in our service at Telford. We are able to offer competitive rates of pay paid via Ltd company or PAYE.
Main duties of the job
Prepare patients for surgery by assessing their medical history, performing physical exams, and ensuring all preoperative tests are complete. They educate patients on the procedure, anesthesia, and recovery process, provide emotional support, and administer prescribed medications. They also ensure that the patient is physically ready for surgery, verify the surgical site, and coordinate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth transition into the operating room.

Key Responsibilities:
* Perform preoperative assessments, including reviewing medical history, medications, and lab results.
* Educate patients on the surgical procedure, anesthesia options, and post-operative care.
* Administer prescribed preoperative medications and prepare patients physically for surgery.
* Offer emotional support and address patient concerns or anxiety.
* Verify patient identity, surgical site, and procedure to ensure safety.
* Collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure seamless patient care.
* Document patient assessments, medications, and education in the medical record.
