About us
UCL is a radically different university. Founded in 1826 in the heart of London, we were the first university in England to welcome students of any religion and the first to welcome women to university education. Today UCL has over 50,000 students and 16,000 staff and is one of the world's top 10 universities.
The department of the Vice President External Engagement coordinates UCL’s engagement with a range of audiences, raising the university’s profile and influence, and managing its reputation. It promotes the public value of UCL’s research and partnerships to the future of Britain and globally. It is a service-driven function made up of communications and marketing professionals who deliver sector-leading media relations, public affairs, institutional communications, brand and integrated marketing, student recruitment, and events.
The Events team delivers a range of events for UCL staff, students, external stakeholders and the general public, in support of UCL’s strategic priorities. This includes graduation ceremonies for over 10,000 students, open days, high-profile VIP events for our influential stakeholders, public lectures, festivals, and award ceremonies.
About the role
Both roles will proactively lead on the organisation and delivery of UCL’s University Open Days and Open Evenings. The roles are responsible for ensuring the Open Days are on brand, on time, and ensuring an ongoing process of improvement through measurement and analytics. They will contribute to an integrated team that interfaces across UCL proactively and productively.
Both roles are internal secondment opportunities only, available to start from Mid Feb 2025 funded until 31 July 2025.
Interviews will be held via Teams on 17th February.

Our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
As London’s Global University, we know diversity fosters creativity and innovation, and we want our community to represent the diversity of the world’s talent. We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where we all belong.
We therefore particularly encourage applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in UCL’s workforce. These include people from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds; disabled people; LGBTQI+ people; and for our Grade 9 and 10 roles, women.
