Chartered Senior Civil Engineer
We are seeking a Chartered Senior Civil Engineer with at least 7 years of experience in flood risk management, hydrology, or a related field to join a Flood Risk Management Team.
About the Role
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality projects, leading multidisciplinary teams, and supporting junior staff's development. Your work will include managing complex projects, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and contributing to the team's growth.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage flooding and hydrology projects, including hydraulic modeling, flood risk assessments, and drainage design.
* Develop and review technical reports, design documents, and proposals.
* Provide technical guidance to ensure project deliverables meet high standards.
* Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to secure approvals.
* Mentor junior staff and support their professional development.
* Participate in business development and tendering activities.
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
* Stay updated with industry advancements and best practices.
Requirements
* Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
* Chartered Engineer with at least 7 years of relevant experience (10 years postgraduate preferred).
* Strong understanding of flood risk management principles.
* Proven project management expertise, including experience with MS Project or Primavera P6.
* Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Proficiency in technical communication and client relationship management.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and hydraulic modeling tools.
* Experience in:
o Cost-Benefit Analysis and Nature-Based Catchment Solutions.
o Environmental Impact Assessment Reporting.
o Costing and budgeting for projects.
o Public Works Contracts.
