Are you a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher looking to transform the educational experience for students with additional needs?
GSL Education are recruiting for an enthusiastic and skilled SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in Bovington, dedicated to creating a supportive and organised learning environment for students with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language Difficulties, and other complex educational needs.
About The Role:
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering differentiated lessons tailored to meet the unique needs of students. The school provides a specialised curriculum that promotes both academic and personal development, ensuring students receive the support they need to thrive, gain independence, and build confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to students with diverse SEN needs.
* Create a structured and inclusive learning environment, encouraging student participation.
* Develop and implement individualised education plans (EHCPs) to address specific learning goals.
* Use assistive technology and multi-sensory teaching strategies to support different learning styles.
* Work collaboratively with SENCOs, Teaching Assistants, therapists, and external professionals.
* Implement positive behaviour management strategies, ensuring a safe and supportive classroom environment.
* Encourage social and emotional development, fostering resilience and confidence in students.
* Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods where necessary.
* Uphold the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies, ensuring a safe learning space for all students.
Requirements of the SEN Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Previous experience teaching in an SEN setting or working with students with additional needs in a mainstream setting.
* A solid understanding of SEND frameworks, EHCPs, and intervention strategies.
* Proficiency in adaptive teaching techniques and using assistive learning tools.
* Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students with SEN.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals.
* A positive, resilient, and proactive attitude towards SEN education.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
