Why work for Fostering?
Fostering Devon is a large, countywide service that provides foster care placements to children and young people in the care of the local authority.
We also recruit new foster carers, look to make foster placements permanent, provide training and support to our existing carers, undertake specialist parenting assessments, and two teams work directly with those children and young people in placement. The teams care passionately about what they do, about the foster carers/supported lodgings hosts they support, and the difference a good placement can mean for children and young people in care. In turn there is a supportive working environment and the commitment to continuous improvement means we don’t stand still but work hard to do the best we can for our carers and the children of Devon.
The support we provide in Business Support is flexible and responsive to the goals of the Fostering Service and its individual teams. We have nine Business Support Administrators, some full time and some part time, working over three areas. They take responsibility for supporting one or two teams, individually or with a colleague, but also cover each other as required. Some tasks are common across teams and offices, others more specialised depending on the work of the team and the support they require.
