Service : Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner
Job Title : Coventry Wellbeing Hub
Location : Based at Wellington Gardens, Coventry
Salary : £13,088 (£22,011 FTE) per annum
Hours : 22hrs per week – The post includes weekend working on a rota basis.
Shifts at the Hub are generally Monday to Friday afternoons and every third Saturday afternoon on a rota basis. Occasional Sunday working may also be required.
About The Role:
To support the delivery of Coventry Wellbeing Hub services by carrying out a range of duties which ensure the wellbeing of service users. Duties will include face-to-face mental health support, signposting and information giving, provision of outreach mental health information sessions and promotion in the community and creating a safe and engaging environment for service users at the Hub.
You Will Have Experience of:
• Working with a wide range of agencies.
• Supporting in the delivery of mental health support services.
• Monitoring and evaluation.
• Working with online platforms such as Zoom.
Lived experience of mental health issues is valued.
Key Responsibilities include:
• To provide practical and emotional person-centred support that works towards empowerment and recovery appropriate for each individual client.
• To provide informal social support to clients accessing the drop-in and outreach activities.
• To provide information, guidance and where appropriate to signpost individuals to specialist agencies.
• To assist in the setting up and tidying up of the venue at the start/end of each session.
• To assist in the provision of themed online support sessions on platforms such as Zoom.
• To create and promote a positive approachable environment encouraging fair access for all people in need of mental health support.
• To co-facilitate emotional development and psychoeducation groups with the Recovery Academy within the Hub where appropriate.
• Working with a wide range of agencies.
Essential Criteria includes:
• Experience of supporting people with mental health problems (min 1yr).
• Excellent communication skills, verbal, non-verbal and written.
• Ability and experience of working with a wide range of people (including people with additional needs or with people from diverse backgrounds.)
• Ability to work in an online environment using a range of platforms such as Teams and Zoom.
• Up to date knowledge of mental health and key issues linked to good wellbeing.
• NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Commitment to valuing fair access & diversity.
• Flexible approach to working.
