A modern, forward-thinking and flexible accountancy firm is hiring a key job role, commutable from Oakham, Stamford, Leicester, Corby, and Melton Mowbray for a Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant with an employer offering hybrid working, parking, strong holidays and perks, plus a friendly and supportive team.
Salary will depend on experience. The team is well-balanced between experience and those training, with great offices and on-site parking. They are flexible on hybrid working, typically wanting 2 or 3 days office-based. Working hours can also be flexible within reason, with employees having varying start and finish times.
Responsibilities:
1. Tracking financial transactions for a number of clients, ensuring postings are accurate and entries can be explained.
2. Reconciliation of bank and credit card transactions.
3. Making supplier and payroll payments using Telleroo.
4. Assisting in the preparation of VAT returns.
5. Assisting with other bookkeeping duties.
6. Developing working relationships with clients.
7. Using excellent written and oral communication.
8. General administration tasks.
9. Developing an understanding of the Company's methods and standards of work required.
10. Becoming familiar with the Company's administrative and office procedures.
11. Becoming familiar with software used by the Company, including Xero and Dext.
12. Taking on additional projects/responsibilities as directed.
13. Fulfilling measures of effectiveness and meeting competencies set for the role.
