Lightfoots LLP Solicitors are looking for a Conveyancing Assistant to be based at our Thame Head Office. This is an excellent opportunity to work with our busy team supporting the Head of Residential Conveyancing in delivering exceptional service to our clients. Key Responsibilities Assisting with client queries by e-mail, on the telephone and in person; Dealing with initial enquiries from prospective clients in order to prepare quotes; Producing new files using our Case Management System; Reviewing clients’ instruction documents, updating the client database, ensuring ID checks are undertaken and funds are placed on account; Liaising with the estate agents and other party’s solicitors throughout the transaction; Assisting with enquiries raised on sale transactions, and collating information on purchase transactions; Exchanging contracts and dealing with post-exchange formalities; Using our Case Management System to prepare files for completion; Dealing with post-completion work, including submission of SDLT returns to HMRC and applications to HM Land Registry. Skills & Experience Previous experience as a conveyancing assistant Excellent verbal communication skills Confident in a “paper lite” workplace for written communication Ability to be proactive and handle a busy workload Comfortable working in a team environment, and happy to offer support to others where needed The above list of duties is not an exhaustive list and may be amended from time to time.
